Max Evans Wolters was born Monday, October 15 th 1923 in Geneva, Wisconsin.
He grew up on the family farm during the depression and the family ended up
having to move to the city.
From the age of 4 he worked small jobs any small job, and during the World War II
he was drafted and became a ham radio operator on the Mine Sweeper USS
SWAY, till the end of the war. On April 23, 1945 Max married Marian Joan Becker
in Miami, Florida.
After his return to civilian life he met up with his wife in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
They purchased their first house and had a son by the name John. In 1953 they decided to leave Wisconsin for California; they arrived in Los Angeles and got a
motel room for the three of them till they found a place they wished to purchase.
In 1954 they found a lovely place on 8 th Street in Inglewood, CA. During the timethey were living in Inglewood they had been blessed with a daughter Naomi.
They remained in Inglewood till 1962 and moved north to Sacramento, CA. to
work with Aerospace Corporation till 1965 when they had a large lay off. At that
time the family decided to move back to Los Angeles area in the south bay of
Redondo Beach, CA.
Dad worked many years with the Northrop Corporation as a tool and die maker
till the age of 70. After 47 years of marriage, dad lost mom in the year of 1992 in
the month of February on the 24 th day. Dad then pursued his passion as a ham
radio operator with the disaster communication for the County of Los Angeles
that included cities of Lennox and Lawndale and Lomita for emergencies, and
many more. In the year of 2001 in the month of December on Christmas Eve he
lost his son my brother at the age of 55.
Dad was a large contributor in church functions here at home and when he was
on vacation, on his yearly trips back east. He would drive all by himself from
California to Colorado then to Minnesota then to Illinois then to Wisconsin and
Missouri; dad would be gone minimum of a month, sometimes longer. On his
return trip back home he would go the southern route back to California thru
Texas, New Mexico, and then Arizona. He really enjoyed these trips, till he was
unable to make the trips back east. Dad drove till the age of 92 when his eye sight
was not the best.
The last couple of months Dad lived at Sunrise of Hermosa Beach. He really
enjoyed living there. He ate at least twice a day if he was hungry and he enjoyed
sharing the Gospel with his caregivers. He was always in a positive mood never
complained. Dad was truly blessed. He lived a long fulfilling life for our Lord Jesus
Christ. He was 92 and short 2 days of being 93 years old. RIP Daddy see you again
in heaven.
