John M. Anderson

John Myregard Anderson was
born 5/15/1930 to Rudolf S. and
Gladys L. (Myregard) Anderson
at home in Paint Creek Township,
Waterville IA. He passed away
on March 18, 2023 at the age
of 92, at Cedar Sinai Hospital,
Marina Del Rey, CA.
John was baptized and confirmed in the Norwegian Synod
faith at West Paint Creek Synod
Church, rural Waukon. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1948.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951
to 1954. He served in Korea and was also
stationed in Japan. John received the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal,
National Defense Service Medal and Good
Conduct Medal.
John worked for Wisconsin Power & Light
Company as a Lineman and during this time
he met Beverly Kay Gust, the love of his life.
They were married on October 4, 1958 at
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Madison WI.
They moved to California in 1958, where
John attended Northrop Aeronautical Institute
furthering his education as an Aircraft Mechanic. He worked for American Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic / Supervisor of Aircraft
Maintenance for 29 years. He retired in 1989 and continued to be active with real estate until his passing. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly, his son John A., his brother Rudolf B. (Peggy)
Anderson, his sister Karen Soper and three grandchildren, Jana
Kay, Jonathan James & James Martin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Lori Pillatzke, Lisa May, Shannon Hartman, Shawn Anderson, Jared Soper and Kari Rea. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Rudolf & Gladys, his brother Lawrence, his in-laws Wilbert & Ruth Gust, his brother in-laws Donn Gust,
Keith Gust and Gary Soper. A viewing will be held on March 29th,
2023 at Douglass Family Mortuary in El Segundo from 4-7 PM. A Memorial service will be held on April 1st, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, El Segundo. John will be laid to rest at West Paint Creek Synod Cemetery, rural Waukon near his family.
